Note to MM: to retrieve your quest for royal status from the dustbin of history, have you considered shutting up? Being royal requires a good bit of restraint.
She is preparing for divorce and having same surname as her children is the last connection to the royal family? Something she can’t let go of since she demands everyone introduce her as Duchess of Sussex. After the divorce or if the royal family took away their title, she is still Meghan Sussex, the mother of prince and princess?
I really enjoyed the educational piece of your article! It was easy to understand and informative for many! But I don’t get why you and other writers with no access to Meghan act as if they know her or as if they’ve had a conversation with her? I’m genuinely curious/asking. Is it engagement bait? Or do you have a source?
Otherwise, language like “She hates this” or “she can’t stand that” seems unprofessional and clearly a lie if it’s not directly quoted. It just makes me sad that writers, reporters, and journalists no longer seek truth and I’m curious why that is.
However, it does beg the question as to why Diana was always called - at least in the press - “Princess Diana” or “Princess Di.”
Per your article, she should have been called “HRH Diana, Princess of Wales” if I read that correctly?
And even though it was common knowledge her surname was “Spencer” she was rarely ever called “Diana Spencer” in the press.
As far as Meghan is concerned…I’m still anticipating a major meltdown and eventual divorce, followed by Harry licking his wounds and crawling back to his brother, who will probably be King when it happens.
I used to find Princess Di slightly annoying, but she was a Saint compared to the insufferable and narcissistic Meghan Markle. Harry is a schmuck, but I can’t help feeling sorry for him…
I know right? So crazy for a married woman to want to change her name and share that name with her children. The nerve!! Talk about not knowing her place!
Meghan Markle, contrary to her protestations, did a lot of research on the Royal Family, certainly knew she was supposed to curtsy to the Queen, and probably knew about names too.
She was very insistent about living in Buckingham Palace, but the late Queen Elizabeth put a stop to that hutzpah.
Markle wanted a title but told Oprah she didn't, and wanted perquisites without working hard. When things didn't go her way, she quit and blamed racism -- fashionable at the time.
We see that she's not particularly industrious, takes direction badly if at all, and isn't above lying.
Her husband told some real whoppers in his tell-all book.
Hmmm yes, a Very Important and Pressing Matter that the media should cover until the woman dies. This is a Totally Normal Reaction, not unhinged at all. PS — you’re so good at mind reading, do you offer services to the public? Maybe you could read my mind?
She’s an American, and frankly, to be expected. Anything for attention. She should've asked someone, like her husband maybe (?), what an appropriate surname should be. Always with the grift. Wallis Simpson would be proud.
This was very insightful and interesting. I don’t dislike Meghan but I find her so unlikable which, to me, feels like she’s breaking some human code and play acting. You know? It just feels so off.
Oh so it is not that you actively dislike her, but somehow she just forces you into it? Passive dislike? Is it necessary to have an opinion on everything, can’t you just ignore her?
Hi Greta - to me the personality she actively shares with the world feels contrived. I don’t like her content, tried it, and didn’t continue consuming it. As a consumer with a dollar vote and ability to press play and pause on my Netflix account, that’s my choice. Just as you, we all have opinions though I’m not here to respond to or be offended by yours.
I don’t really have an opinion… but maybe THAT is an opinion, I guess. I just stumbled onto this thread and people are so invested in not liking her, it is quite something. Anyway sorry to bother you, I don’t know her either 🙂
In defence of Meghan, sharing a name with your children is really important to some people, myself included, not because of pettiness or a desire to be equal, but because the family they came from was an absolute shit show, and being a part of something new that is theirs is extra meaningful as a result. Just my two cents.
Well written and easy to understand.
Thanks
I’m glad you found it helpful!!
Thank you for breaking this down so well. She is as insufferable as ever!
She could call herself anything and her brand would fail. She has nothing to offer.
I’m not sure MM wakes up in the morning and knows which name she’ll use that day.
Note to MM: to retrieve your quest for royal status from the dustbin of history, have you considered shutting up? Being royal requires a good bit of restraint.
Just a thought.
“The cosplay royals” - 🔥🔥🔥

FWIW--I find Meaghan really annoying. Perpetually aggrieved.
Fantastic summary. ”As ever - Meghan Markle”
Thanks Kris!!
Whatever 😊
Beautiful

Great response. I don’t know the answer to this question or why people can’t just let her live her life!
Interesting article!

They certainly are a well-matched couple.

LOL. You're a fan, I see. So long!
Not really, I’m just not a fan of propaganda. Of any kind.

Grow up. “She’s an American” “to be expected” is rather broad stroke and basic.
I was in a “broad strokes and basic” kind of mood.

I"m sure her SAG card is still Meghan Markle so why use Sussex as her professional identity?

Interesting piece, though, glad I found you
