The British Royal Family Continues to Move on From Harry and Meghan
Prince William and Princess Catherine will lead the public commemorations for the anniversary of the Queen's death
As the British royal family prepares to commemorate the one-year anniversary of the death of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, its appears that Charles is finally distancing himself and the family from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
Though the Sussexes attended The Queen’s funeral and Harry reluctantly attended his father’s Coronation, it seems like the couple’s easy pass is finally coming to an end.
The “conscious uncoupling” began late last week, with the palace deciding not to acknowledge Meghan Markle on her birthday. Though there was no post for Archie or Lili’s birthdays on social media either, Meghan’s was a bit more of a surprise. After all, the royals did share birthday wishes last year, but it appears that with the Queen’s death the royals no longer feel like placating the couple’s delusions that they any place in the House of Windsor.
The slights for Harry and Meghan continued with news that the couple were officially stripped of the last few remaining HRH, or His or Her Royal Highness, references on the royal family’s website. This styling identifies someone as a senior royal, and would also require that other lower ranking royals bow or curtsy to that person. It’s a distinction that royals cling to and is considered an insult in many ways to remove it.
Famously, Princess Diana lost her HRH after her divorce from Prince Charles, and Prince William vowed at the time he would give it back to her when he became king.
Sadly, he won’t get that chance.
Eliminating the mentions of Harry and Meghan as an HRH was a long-time coming, though not a surprise given the poor management of the royal.uk website, but the separation didn’t end there.
On Friday, the Palace announced that nearly all the working members of the royal family would be receiving new honorary military appointments, including three each for the Prince and Princess of Wales.
Perhaps it was a coincidence, or maybe even that very subtle shade towards Harry as he embarks on another pseudo royal tour, but one of William’s was as Colonel-in-Chief of The Army Air Corps. For those who aren’t aware, that’s Harry’s old regiment.
The royals aren’t that petty, but it also seems somewhat ironic that in the lead up to the Invictus Games, Harry’s pride and joy, that the palace announce new royal military appointments, reminding the delusional wannabe, yet again, that he’s not royal anymore.
The official commemorations of the Queen’s death will also not involve Harry and Meghan, who apparently did not receive an invite. Given the conflict with the upcoming Invictus Games that sees appropriate, but its another instance where the family is firmly putting distance between themselves and the Sussexes.
This is a great start, but the royals need to do more. Every day, Harry and Meghan continue to erode the brand and the mystic of the monarchy by needlessly promoting themselves. The latest example this week is Meghan moronically telling People Magazine that she attended the Taylor Swift Eras concert and jumped out of her seat at the singer’s rendition of “You Belong to Me.” The story appears to be a desperate attempt to garner attention after Meghan’s time at the concert went completely unnoticed.
There’s no way around it, the Sussexes do infinitely more damage to the royals every day they’re allowed to use and abuse the titles and privileges graciously bestowed upon them by Her Majesty, who was under the belief that they would serve the U.K. and not themselves.
At the very least, it would perhaps be a good time to demote them to the Earl and Countess of Dumbarton. It would work nicely as Mehgan hates it and it seems rather apt description for Harry (no offense meant to the people of Dumbarton). Stripping Harry and Meghan of their dukedom and other superfluous titles would be best, but that would probably spell the end of Charles’ virtually nonexistent relationship with Harry’s children.
That would be immensely challenging for Charles, but the broader future of the monarchy shouldn’t come at the expense placating the Sussexes delusions. They aren’t the future anymore.
Charles’ legacy rests with Prince William, Catherine, The Princess of Wales, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
Harry and Meghan may feign respect for the monarchy, but for the Sussexes it’s all about the Benjamins. The impact that their actions can have on the monarchy and the crown are of little consequence to them.
The Sussexes relentless pursuit of fame and fortune will never end, so the greatest challenge of Charles’ reign will be figuring out how to mitigate the continuing damage Harry and Meghan are doing. And that requires divisive action, not passively waiting and hoping that the California duo suddenly realize service and kindness starts at home.

Royal Profile…Crown Princess Victoria
Name: Victoria Ingrid Alice Désirée, Crown Princess of Sweden, Duchess of Västergötland
Member: House of Bernadotte
Birthday: July 14, 1977
Husband: Prince Daniel Westling
Children: Princess Estelle (11) and Prince Oscar (7)
Nickname: The Godmother of Royal Europe, as she’s a godmother to many future heirs to the throne.
Brief biography: Crown Princess Victoria was the first born child of King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden, but she was not born the Crown Princess. Given the country’s laws at the time, her younger brother was initially born the Crown Prince, but Sweden’s Parliament amended the Act of Succession in 1979 and introduced absolute primogeniture, meaning that whoever was born first, regardless of gender, would become heir. As a result, her younger brother was stripped of his status as Crown Prince and it was given to Victoria, much to her father’s continued frustration.
Americans are perhaps most familiar with Crown Princess Victoria as part of the inspiration for some of Anne Hathaway’s look in The Princess Diaries. Hathaway’s purple dress at the dinner scene is similar to one worn by Victoria at the country’s yearly Nobel Prize Ceremony.
But for royal followers, that dress is perhaps most infamous for highlighting the Crown Princess’ struggle with anorexia at the time, which started after she was thrust into royal duties at 18 after living most of her early life away from the limelight.
Victoria has said that this developed due to the stress she put on herself to try and be the perfect royal. In 1997, the Palace officially announced Victoria was seeking treatment in the United States.
Victoria then spent 1998-2000 at Yale University in the United States, and eventually graduated with her bachelors degree in 2009 from Uppsala University. She also took part in some basic military training.
Victoria started dating her eventual husband Daniel Westling in 2002, who was her personal trainer. His status as a commoner was a bit of a problem initially, as the constitution declared that Swedish princesses would lose their titles and stylings, including their children’s place in the line of succession, if they didn't marry a man of equal rank. As a result, three of the king’s four sisters lost their original titles and were given curtesy ones instead. This was changed in time for Victoria’s wedding in 2010, and her children are in the line-of-succession. Her daughter Princess Estelle, born in 2012, will be the future queen and her son Prince Oscar, born in 2016, is the spare.
When it comes to her patronages, the Crown Princess has a variety of interests. She supports international peace efforts and aid work, climate change efforts, sea and fishing management and children’s and young people’s health. In 1997, she founded the Krinprinsessan Victorias Fond, which helps disabled children live active lives. Throughout her time as Crown Princess, she has undergone a variety of foreign royal tours around the world, though she is particularly close to her Scandinavian neighbors, Denmark and Norway, who all share King Oscar II of Sweden as an ancestor.
Victoria also has a deep passion for nature. For her 40th birthday, the Crown Princess carried out walks throughout all of Sweden’s provinces. Here she is speaking about an Arctic expedition she went on with Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark and Crown Prince Haakon of Norway.
In addition to Swedish and, obviously, English, the Crown Princess can also speak French and German.
I agree with you that Charles should demote them so to speak. They should be the Earl and Countess of Dumbarton. To be honest it’s still much more than they deserve. Considering that Meghan looked down her nose at the Queen and refused the title she so graciously offered to Archie, was such an enormous sign of disrespect. I believe that neither of their children are deserving of titles or a place in the LOS. The mysterious moon bump debacle during the first possible pregnancy, the secrecy surrounding his birth, the lack of witnesses, considering all other royal births have 3-4 live witnesses who can attest to the fact that the royal baby was born of the biological mother’s body. The lies and deception used by the Sussexes during the labor and birth. Their putative daughter should have automatically been denied a place in the succession to the throne. She was not born, nor has she ever lived in the country that she could one day be made to rule. At the time of her birth her parents had left that life behind and made it crystal clear they were never returning. That’s not to mean she shouldn’t have a place in the family or the history books, she should, but I believe if children are born to parents who voluntarily left their royal life and duties behind to live and work abroad beginning a new life the children born and raised abroad should not be eligible. Better yet would be to take Harry and the two putative children remove them altogether. It’s surprising that there is no law stating royal children with a title and place in the LoS must be raised in the UK or one of the Commonwealth Counties associated with that Monarch. At the very least this should be added by KC to the letters patent. I believe that upon leaving royal life, all title’s issued by the monarch should resort back to the crown and only inherited titles may be retained, but only used I’d working on behalf of the crown.
Yes, the Dumbarton title would be fitting.
The "nonexistent relationship" is the only one possible for nonexistent children.
