Sussexes Hollywood Folly the Result of Meghan Markle's Lies to Prince Harry?
Royals galore attend various Wimbledon games with many from the British royal family in addition to royals from Denmark and Monaco
It was the snub heard around the world. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s much discussed and maligned documentary on Netflix failed to get a single Emmy nomination. That’s a firm and powerful rejection from Hollywood, but the situation is even more potentially dire for the state of the Sussexes relationship.
Given the collapse of everything “Hollywood” touched by Harry and Meghan, it raises an interesting question: Is Harry finally coming to the realization that Meghan was never the industry hotshot she portrayed herself as to the hapless prince?
In the early days of their relationship, it was clear that Harry was utterly infatuated with Meghan Markle and the slick Hollywood lifestyle that she claimed to live. It’s been alleged that both Prince Harry and Prince William had a bit of a fascination with the tinseltown crowd, and Meghan seemed to embody that glitz and glamour that fascinated Harry.
He showed her series “Suits,” where she played a supporting character, to his grandmother, grandfather and likely other family and friends as well. You can almost feel the ego boost that he had that this “actress” would take an interest in the spare and could, perhaps, allow him to compete and even surpass his brother and sister-in-law.
This delusion was bolstered later as Harry took great pride in his memoir of telling the world that Prince William and Catherine were “religious” watchers of “Suits,” and that the future king even uttered “f—k off” when told that Harry was dating Meghan. (If any of that is true is anyone’s guess, though it’s unlikely that “Suits” is part of the evening line-up in the Wales’ household anymore.)
Harry believed that Meghan was this great, successful and influential actress who had yet to receive recognition on the world stage. In his own way, the dimwitted prince probably even thought that going to Hollywood after leaving the royal family was paving the way for Meghan to achieve her career goals after she gave up “everything” to become a royal for him. As they quickly secured some mega deals and it appeared like Hollywood was at their feet, Harry probably thought that they were set and all he had to do was lean on Meghan for their future.
But just a couple of years in, it appears like Harry’s faith in his wife was misplaced.
Not only have they lost their Spotify deal, but the Netflix arrangement looks increasingly tenuous. Now, despite likely being the most viewed documentary last year, “Harry & Meghan” failed to secure any nominations from the Emmy’s, though it has been included in a smaller award ceremony.
It appears that despite having nearly endless resources, plenty of opportunities and no excuses, Harry and Meghan’s Hollywood folly is grinding to an end. And though there are many, many, many reasons why it failed, it’s also evident that some or most of the blame could be placed at the feet of Meghan Markle and Harry’s belief in her.
Though I have no evidence for this, I imagine that Meghan told Harry not to worry when they were cut off from the royal family. She’s an actress, she had a role on “Suits,” and she can get them in the room with the industry’s movers and shakers. They can create a media empire overnight, don't worry. Just put your trust in Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex, I’m sure she told him.
And I can’t help but wonder, if Harry is starting to pick up, even a bit, on the farce this misadventure has become. That she wasn’t this influential figure, but a bit player who was always destined to be a bit player.
They’ve been publicly humiliated, ridiculed and called out by not only critics in the media and on social media, but by the industry itself, which increasingly sees them as nothing more than talentless hacks desperate for a pay day.
Perhaps Harry will follow in Meghan’s likely footsteps with his only lifestyle brand, Wimp. I can see the article headlines now: How to ruin your life and future in 12 easy steps, the approved Meghan Markle worship style for wives and girlfriends, and, finally, how to blow $120 million payday by playing video games.
I’m sure it’ll be a smash hit.

The Royal Box at Wimbledon has been full hosting royals from mostly the U.K., but also Europe as well. The Princess of Wales, royal patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, attended the second day of Wimbledon, though she will likely make another appearance with her husband and perhaps even Prince George and maybe Princess Charlotte this weekend for the men’s and women’s finals. Other royals seen in the Royal Box includes Her Majesty Queen Camilla, The Duchess of Gloucester, Prince Michael of Kent, Peter Phillips, Lady Sarah Chatto, the Earl of St Andrews George Windsor and Lady Amalia Windsor. But not all of the British royals got a seat in the Royal Box, with Lord Frederick Windsor, Zara Phillips Tindall and Mike Tindall all sitting with more of the general, though wealthy, crowd. Foreign royals Prince Albert of Monaco and Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark also took a spot in the royal box.

Beatrice Borromeo, daughter-in-law of Princess Caroline of Monaco, has released a Netflix series called “The King Who Never Was.” The three part series focused on the murder of a man by Prince Vittorio Emanuele of Savoy, who could have been the King of Italy if the throne had not been dissolved. Given her status as a member of the Italian aristocracy, she is familiar with the case having heard about it in her childhood amongst family members.
The Princess of Wales will become an aunt again, as her brother James Middleton has announced that his wife Alizee is pregnant with their first child. This will be the seventh grandchild for the Middleton’s, who have three from both Catherine and Pippa.

Final days of Wimbledon usually results in more royal attendance, and Catherine, as royal patron, is expected distribute the trophies to the winners.
The Wales’ children are now on school break, which means that Catherine and William will be slowing down their royal engagements to spend time with their children for the remainder of the summer.
I feel that these two are getting exactly what they deserve. Although they will take no responsibility for their failure, they fail
to realize the consequences of their actions.
Beatrice is a perfect Dior ambassador.
