Prince Harry's Mercilessly Mocked, Brits Criticized Over Greek King's Funeral
Prince William and Princess Catherine Go on their First Royal Engagement of the Year
Prince Harry’s Penis Predictably Becomes Fodder for Late Night Television
Publishers are reporting that Prince Harry’s memoir “Spare” is the fastest selling non-fiction book in history—but was sharing his “truth” worth the mockery its inspired? Instead of getting the public to empathize broadly with him, Harry has seen his popularity crater, his memory called into question and his pain turned into a punchline on late-night television.
So, Harry, was the cool $20 million you received worth it?
It’s likely that Harry, and more specifically Meghan Markle, would say, “yes.” Their entire post-royal careers have been predicated on the couple making as much money as humanly possible as fast as humanly possible in order to sustain their obscenely expensive lifestyles. Having a massive bestseller is probably seen as a step in the right direction.
But cold hard cash is little comfort when your reputation is in such tatters that your pain is now fodder for late night comics.
Recently, Jimmy Kimmel “revealed” a new children’s book based on “Spare,” called … (read more here).
British Royals Criticized for Not Sending King Charles or Prince William to King Constantine’s Funeral
King Constantine II of Greece was laid to rest in Athens on January 16, in the first major royal event of the year. Every European royal family sent their King/Queen or Crown Prince/Princess to attend, with one major exception: the British. So where were King Charles III and Prince William?
This isn’t an uncommon occurrence. In fact, the last big continent event attended by King Charles, although then he was still The Prince of Wales, was the investiture of King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands in 2013. Since then, there have been other royal weddings, funerals and birthday celebrations, where the British typically send either Prince Edward and his wife Sophie or Princess Anne, The Princess Royal.
While Edward, Sophie and Anne are all fine representatives of the British Royal Family (BRF), they are also glaringly low down on the totem pole compared to who the other families send. When the first line of attendance for any event are usually Kings/Queens and Crown Prince/Princesses, Prince Edward’s place as 13th in line for succession, and the Princess Royal 16th makes the Brits seem rather, dare I say, snobbish?
While the British royals tend to bring a lot more press attention to any event, of which they have no control, they also are too often content to not mingle with any of their counterparts.
There could be a couple of reasons why the British royals seem to keep their distance.
The first is … (for more, click here).

I believe the thinking behind the Highest ranking UK royals not attending weddings and funerals of foreign royals or heads of state is purely that if you go to one you’ll be expected to go to all, and if you skip one it will look like a snub. The only funeral (besides that of closest family or friend) QEII attended was Baudouin of Belgium in 1993. (Unsure why the exception was made for him) but on the whole I think it’s more about being diplomatic in sending lower royals who can always attend.
