On a brief trip, the Princess is supporting Danish business interests during Milan Design Week 2023 in Italy
Crown Princess Mary of Denmark is currently in Milan, Italy to represent Danish design solutions during an exhibition called, “This is Denmark” at Milan Design Week 2023. Her Royal Highness’ visit will include a busy schedule and is aimed at promoting Danish design and sustainability exports. She is being accompanied by the Minister for Industry, Business and Financial Affairs, Morten Bødskov.
She began her brief tour on April 17 by opening the “This is Denmark” exhibition, which features 17 Danish companies that are taking part in the exhibition as part of Milan Design Week 2023. It includes those from the Confederation of Danish Industry and Creative Denmark, as well as the Danish Embassy in Rome.
The Crown Princess will then deliver and opening speech and participate in a roundtable discussion regarding the “New European Bauhaus Project – DESIRE, Designing the Irresistible Circular Society.” According to the Danish royal household’s official press release, “The Bauhaus school was established more (than) 100 years ago and radically changed the way off building in the West with increased quality of life for the general population.” In addition to continuing the original legacy, the new European Bauhaus is shifting to addressing ways to make construction more sustainable.
To top off her trip, Mary will attend a dinner arranged by Creative Denmark with representatives from Denmark and Italy.
Considered one of the most fashionable royal ladies in Europe, Mary will certainly capture attention during her brief trip. This occurred just days after Denmark recognized Queen Margrethe celebrated her 83rd birthday with a balcony appearance with her family, after spending the last several weeks recovering from major back surgery.
